Concurrently, he served in the US Navy Reserve, rising to the rank of Captain before retiring. His dedication to community and faith was evident through his membership at Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, involvement with the Knights of Columbus, and participation in the Columbus Italian Club and the American Italian Golf Association.
An avid golfer, Gary found great joy in the game and cherished the camaraderie of playing in leagues and outings at a variety of golf courses. His passion for golf extended beyond recreation as he also volunteered his time and expertise to support local golf tournaments and events.
In addition to his love for golf, Gary found fulfillment in volunteer work, notably as a Hospice Volunteer, guardian for Honor Flight Columbus, and former president of his condo association.
