Jack J. Frye, U.S. Navy Veteran, age 96, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 7, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born November 1, 1927, in Urbana, Ohio to the late John Bible and Anna Marie Frye. He retired from the Columbus Dispatch after 42 years in advertising sales. Jack was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan; and even more devoted Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather; Honorary “Grandpa Frye” to many others, he was dearly loved by all. In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years Mathilda “Jean” Frye. Jack is survived by son, Jeff (Melinda) Frye of Bradenton, Florida; grandchildren; Jason (Jessicca) Frye of Westerville, Ohio, Robyn (Shane) Burke of Bartlett, Tennessee, Lisa (Anthony) Vaitkevich of Dublin, Ohio, and Jared Frye of Dublin, Ohio, great grandchildren; Cyrus Frye, Kinley Frye, Caylen Burke, Shelby Burke, Noah Vaitkevich, Carsyn Vaitkevich, along with many other dear family, friends and caregivers.

Family will receive friends Friday, December 15, 2023, from 10-11AM at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON FUNERAL HOME, 6699 N. High Street, with a funeral to follow at 11AM, with Entombment to follow at Kingwood Memorial Park.
