

Jason Thomas Walker, age 50 of Galena, Ohio passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 1, 2026 after 22 years of living with ALS. Throughout his battle, Jason exemplified grace and positivity that inspired everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Jason was born on September 9, 1975 in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Reynoldsburg High School, Columbus State Community College and The Ohio State University. Jason worked as a gifted bartender before his ALS diagnosis and met many life-long friends from his time at Chili’s, Larry-B’s sports lounge and through his co-ed softball team. Jason had the most infectious personality and was loved by so many with his quick-wit and kindness.
Jason married his best friend Annie (Kress) Walker in June 2014 and they share a beautiful daughter, Eloise (Ellis) Lynne Walker (age 9). In addition to his wife and daughter, Jason is survived by his father John L (Sarah) Walker, brother Chris (Laurie) Walker, grandmother Gertrude Dempsey-Hill, uncle Tom Dempsey, nephews Michael, Austin and Connor Walker, mother-in-law Lynne Kress, sisters-in-law Amy Kress and Abby (Tim) Hollingsworth, uncle Jim Walker, aunt Nancy (Walker) Franovic, as well as numerous cousins.
Jason is preceded in death by his mother Sherri L (Dempsey) Walker, grandfather Floyd Dempsey, father-in-law Ray Kress and paternal grandparents Leo and Dieteguard Walker.
Jason made a lasting impression on those that knew and loved him. He will be missed by many.
A visitation for Jason will be held at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085, US, on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
