Joseph Polishuk passed away peacefully on the 14th of October, 2022 at the age of 86. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Polishuk. Joe is survived by his son Donald (Vivian) Polishuk, daughter Kim (Todd) Fulton, his grandchildren Alex and Alina Polishuk, Jordan (Vlad) Yuryev and Brendan (Natalie) Fulton, sister Jennie Christensen and many nieces and nephews.
Joe was born to Rosie and Paul Polishuk in March of 1936 in Clifford, Michigan, and spent his childhood on the family farm. He married Barbara Lyman at Mayville’s Mills Memorial Baptist Church in August of 1958. Joe served in the Army from 1959 to 1961 as an infantryman and was stationed in Virginia, where he was joined by Barbara and their first baby, Don. Joe was extremely proud to have served his country.
Joe and Barb returned to Mayville to be with family and so Joe could eventually begin his own construction company, JADCO Builders. Joe was passionate about his work, and built his own family two beautiful homes in Mayville. He never sat still for too long; whether he was making his children an ice skating rink in the backyard or decorating the house for Halloween, Joe loved to spend his free time working on projects around the house.
Joe also loved spending time with his buddies and family in the great outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed camping with Barb and their grandchildren. Once Joe and Barb retired, they enjoyed spending their winters at their seaside condo in Florida. Joe also loved music all his life, especially Johnny Cash, Eddie Arnold and Elvis Presley.
Joe cherished his family. He was a caring and loving husband and a playful and energetic grandfather. He will forever be remembered by friends and family for his fun-loving nature.
The family takes comfort in knowing Joe is home with the Lord.
