Joseph E. Young

Joseph Edward Young, 72, passed away on March 12, 2026, in Marysville, Ohio, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 3, 1954, and lived his life ready for the day Jesus would come to pick him up.

Joe was a devoted husband, a loving son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend. He was the life of every gathering—full of wisdom, quick with a one liner, always ready with a joke, and known for telling the best stories. Joe never missed a chance to be out on the dance floor. He loved baking and snacking, and he made countless friends simply by sharing his treats. Steadfast and kind, he led by example in all he did. Joe was a good and faithful servant, always keeping God at the center of his life.

Joe is preceded in death by his father, George Young; his brother, James Young; his sister, Nancy Young; and his first wife, Rebecca J. Young. He is survived by his mother, Eleanor (Young) Wentzel; his wife, Pam Young; his sisters Rosina Young, Mary (Marvin) Kale, and Connie Young; his children Jamie Muntean, Anthony Young, Stephen Young (Wendy), Philip Young (Amneh), Jarrod Goare (Brittany), Brett Goare (Lacey), and Tiffany Kates (Matt); and his grandchildren Aidan Young, Brandon Muntean, Molly and Lucy Kimmle, Amora Kates, Jaxon and Ella Goare, and Xaden Goare, along with many loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Services will be held at Schoedinger Funeral Home in Worthington on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with calling hours from 9–11 a.m., followed by a funeral service and burial at Kingwood Cemetery. After the burial, the family will gather at 200 Whistling Way in Lewis Center to celebrate Joe’s life. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations may be made to Grace Polaris Church, designated to the Deacon Fund—a cause that was especially close to Joe’s heart.

Joe’s steadfastness, leadership, and fun loving spirit will be deeply missed, but his love and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
