Leonora ‘Lee’ ‘Nori’ Marinello Wagner.
Leonora was the youngest daughter of Natale and Josephine Marinello and was born in 1928. She was married for seventy years to Harold who she lost five years ago. She was preceded by her parents and by her brothers Serio and Elio and her sisters Mary, Catherine, Lera, and Emma. She was the last of her generation.
She is survived by sons Michael (Diane) and Mark (Debbie), and grandchildren Rebecca (Jim), Max (Molly), Paul (Stefanie), Alison (Michael), and great grandchildren Brooklyn, Grant, and George.
Lee was a loving and dedicated partner to Harold and stay-at-home mom to Michael and Mark. She volunteered at her boys' school lunchroom and at maintaining the altar linens at St. James the Less Church and for decades at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She loved craft work of many kinds, ceramics, basket-making, etc. but her real passion was needle-work and crocheting. Hundreds of the homeless have worn her crocheted hats and her children and grandchildren still enjoy the Afghans she made for them. Everyone told her that she should enter her needle-point pieces in competitions, but she pursued perfection for her own satisfaction, often removing hours or day of work to fix an error that no one would ever notice.
Like many women of her time, Lee didn't consider herself to be strong or intelligent but those who knew her always argued that she was a smart, curious, thoughtful, funny, strong and loving woman who will be missed by all.
A visitation for Leonora "Lee" will be held Tuesday, April 1, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A funeral will occur Wednesday, April 2, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 N High St, Lewis Center, OH 43035.
