Macille Thompkins Stoner, aged 77, January 16, 1945 to November 5, 2022 is survived by her son, William (Cristine) Stoner; grandchildren, Amanda Imhoff, Sammi, Cameron, Vivian, and Will Stoner; sister, Sandy Hardesty; cousins, Susan Bischoff, Barbara Moore Thompkins, and Marilyn; and her close friends, Joanne and Vicki. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett Bantum Thompkins and Martha Violet Moore; daughter, Shari Stoner; and her former husband, William “Skip” Howard Stoner Jr.
Grammy (as her family called her), or Mace, (as her friends called her), loved to spend time with her family, to travel, to cook (she was an excellent chef), to kick butts playing Scrabble, enjoyed live theater, especially with her theater friends, to play Words With Friends, and taking care of her cats, Jazzy, Scamp, Moo and SweetPea. She enjoyed the beach, collecting seashells, gardening and lighthouses. She took pride in baking elaborate cakes to ignite wonder in the eyes of the youngsters who entered her life.
Mace graduated from Coshocton High School, then THE Ohio State University. She loved rooting on the Bucks to victory!
William is particularly grateful for his mother’s commitment to enriching his and his sister’s young lives with culture, from theater to museums, to travel and for fostering of a love of eclectic music.
Macille was also an accomplished Occupational Therapist and thrived while helping people to reclaim and rehabilitate their lives. She reenforced the importance of unconditional love and sacrifice for her loved ones. She also believed in aliens and shared this love with her grandchildren.
When you have the opportunity, please have a shot of Metaxa in her honor.
A visitation for Macille will be held Sunday, November 13, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.
