

Born to Robert and Marion Canary, Margaret dedicated her life to caring for others through both her professional work and countless hours of volunteer service. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Dalton; her son, Robert Dalton; and her sister, Janet Alexander.
Margaret is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer Dalton Jordan and Julie Dalton McKee; her cherished grandchildren, Sierra, Chloe, Kaitlyn, and Christopher; her sister, Virginia Wagner; her beloved dog, Lucy; and countless dear friends whose lives were touched by her kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and caring spirit left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She spent her life serving others, both professionally and personally, with unwavering compassion and dedication. Through her work with the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities, St. John’s Early Education Center, Head Start, and the Early Childhood Resource Network, she helped support and uplift countless children and families throughout the community.
Her commitment to service extended far beyond her career. Margaret generously volunteered her time with Saint Peter’s Church in Worthington, Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Columbus Humane, and Twin Valley, always seeking ways to help others and make her community a better place.
Margaret will be remembered for her gentle heart, her strength, her sense of humor, and the unconditional love she gave to her family, friends, and all those she served throughout her life. Her memory will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
A funeral mass will take place at St Peter Roman Catholic Church at 6899 Smoky Row Rd., Columbus, OH 43235 at 11am
