Maureen M. Schum of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on September 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Dorothy Schum and Eugene Schum. Maureen had a deep love for dogs, especially her precious shelties, and for spending time in nature, finding joy in the welcome company of animals and the outdoors.
She is survived by her sister, Gail (Murray) Appelbaum, and her niece and nephew, Lauren Appelbaum and Andrew (Maxine) Appelbaum, who will carry her memory forward. Maureen has spent her adult life making friends all around her community who will each have their special memories of time spent together. She lived with courage despite profound limitations.
