Melanie Claire La Tour, born on June 12, 1990, in Columbus, Ohio to Douglas La Tour and the late Deborah (Casto) La Tour, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 29, 2024. She is survived by her father and step-mother Faith Porter, paternal Grandmother Claire La Tour, sister Ashley La Tour, sister Whitney La Tour and her life partner Chris Frische, brother Jon La Tour, nephew Dominic Frische, uncle Randy La Tour (Kathleen), aunt Tracy Potter (Mark), and numerous cousins. Melanie was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Floyd and Retha Casto, paternal grandfather Jerry La Tour, and uncle Terrell La Tour.
Melanie graduated from Columbus Alternative High School in 2008 and was a varsity swimmer at Whetstone High School, earning her varsity letter. She was passionate about Scottish Dance and had a deep love for animals, particularly dogs and marine life. Known for her generosity and compassion, Melanie was able to extend the gift of life to two organ recipients.
