The Aunt Miranda has been a huge influence in my life. She was one of my biggest cheerleaders and my support system, offering words of encouragement, reassurance that I was doing the right things, and showing me unconditional love. Her love, kindness, compassion, and generosity helped shape me to who I am today.
I use to spend a lot of time with her while I was growing up. She use to drive up to Cleveland to spend the weekends with me or come and pick me up to bring me back down here to spend the summer with her. She took time off work to be able to do my favorite things while I was here, like go to the zoo, go get vegetable lo-mein, and watch movies while we ate strawberry frozen yogurt. She taught me how to fold Japanese whishing stars, which I would surprise her with jars of them when she got home from work.
She would often tell me how proud she is of the way I was able to turn my life around and how proud she was of how I have raised Addy. Aunt Miranda was not only a huge influence in my life, but in Addy’s life as well. Teaching her by example love, kindness and compassion. Addy only had 7 years of the similar experiences and for her, one of her favorite things to do with Aunt Miranda were sleepovers with chocolate chip cookies. This past week in talking to family members, they have said recent phone conversations with Aunt Miranda that she expressed how much joy Addy has brought to her life, how happy it has made her that she has a chance to watch Addy grow up. I am thankful that Addy will too have those happy and long lasting memories of Aunt Miranda and that Aunt Miranda helped me shape her in her formative years.
One of the things Aunt Miranda and I shared was the love of food, I love to cook and she loved to eat. She would be excited to try new foods and any of the food I would make. 
These are only a few of the things I will miss. Her strength, determination, understanding, willingness and so many other qualities will resonate with me forever.

I sit here and ponder how very much I’d like to talk with you today, there are so many thing that we didn’t get to say. I know how much you care for me, and how much I care for you, and each time I think of you, I know you’ll miss me too. An angel came and took you by the hand, and said your place was ready in heaven, far above… and you had to leave behind, all those you dearly loved. You had so much to live for, you had so much to do… It still seems impossible that God was taking you. And though your life on earth is past, in Heaven it starts anew. You’ll live for all eternity, just as God has promised you. And though you’ve walked through Heaven’s gate, we’re never far apart, for every time I think of you you’re right here, deep within my heart.

Miranda, rest in peace. We love you , miss you and will always remember you.

Fong Goo was not just my aunt, but she was someone who always had my back and fully supported me. And she was someone that I always looked forward to seeing every chance I got. We shared a love of pop culture and I couldn't wait to hang out and talk about our favorite movies and music together.

I have fond memories of visiting her out here in Ohio when I was younger, with nights ending in karaoke, singing my favorite Disney songs.

She was the one that introduced me to Chinese pop music, and she fully supported my love for all things Backstreet Boys, helping me find all of the fan memorabilia we could get our hands on.

When I was in the 4th grade, I wanted to get my ears pierced and she helped me come up with a strategy to convince my dad to finally say yes. That strategy was to ask for a tattoo first, so that getting my ears pierced didn't seem as scary. Fong Goo always made sure I had the support I needed to achieve my goals.

As I grew older, I was excited to tell her about all of my accomplishments - whether it was getting good grades, making captain of my volleyball team, or graduating from college - I knew she would always be proud of me.

And more recently, I've been lucky to be a little closer to her after moving to NY from CA and have had the chance to visit her more frequently, and she always welcomed me into her home with open arms. I cherish the time I was able to spend with her, especially in these last few years.

As I grow older, I find myself coming back to the hobbies and interests I had when I was younger, so many of them that I shared with Fong Goo. And although we're saying goodbye to her today, I find comfort knowing that she will always be with me and always be a part of who I am. I love you and will miss you, Fong Goo.

Thank you for teaching my popo her first English words and songs. You always encouraged her to keep learning and trying new things. You and my popo connected every week to share news about family and new chinese shows to watch.
My popo and her little sister have a connection that can not be undone. Their connection now reaches Heaven, where little sister can watch over my popo.
Fong Yee, we love you, miss you, and will remember you always.

Dear Fong Yee
Thank you for being my auntie and the best little sister to my mom.
You blessed us with many visits to California, where we had fun shopping, watching movies, exploring sites, and eating delicious meals together. Thank you for making your own home like our second home where we could have lively Mui family reunions and late night talks.

Miranda has always been family oriented by hosting family get-togethers at her house during holidays and especially Christmas. She has been mainly responsible for keeping us all in touch with each other. She will be missed.

Those we love don't away.  They walk beside us in our hearts and memories.

Miranda was a friend to our daughter, Susan Loper. We met her on many occasions and she was so sweet. She introduced us to dim sum one Sunday. Such a wonderful lady gone too soon!
