

Pat was a graduate of Salem High School and the Ohio State University where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
After graduation she worked for the Alliance (Ohio) Review before moving on to the editorial department of the Santa Ana (California) Register.
She returned to Salem and married Raymond J Kirby on August 13, 1960, raising their two sons Richard and Terry.
Jud and Pat moved to Chillicothe, OH in 1983 and to Newport News (Poquoson), VA two years later.
Pat was an original volunteer for Mobile Meals of Salem and served as Treasurer. She was also a member of Trinity Luther Church in Salem where she taught Sunday school and was a women’s circle secretary, then leader. Pat also participated in the Lutheran World Relief quilt project.
After relocating to Virginia, she was a volunteer newsletter editor for the Peninsula Nature and Science Center in Newport News until the Center was enlarged into the Virginia Living Museum. She organized and managed the Museum’s store from it’s opening until her retirement in 1994.
Pat was an active member of the Ascension Episcopal Church in Norfolk, VA, serving on the hospitality and bereavement committees.
Pat would later move back to Ohio and resided at the Feridean Commons Community in Westerville since 2011. She attended All Saints Episcopal Church in New Albany.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jud and her son Terry (Julie) Kirby. Survived by her son Rick (Tammy) Kirby and grandchildren Ian and Mikayla.
Private Family service with interment is planned for a future date.
Pat was dearly loved by her family and friends. She will be missed.
