Phyllis graduated from Linden High School and The Ohio State University. She was a teacher of health and physical education in Columbus City Schools for many years and was also a front desk supervisor at the YMCA North. She was an avid Reds fan and loved Tony Perez. She and her late husband, Jim, took many road trips to cheer on Tony and the Reds.
She was also a huge fan of St. Charles Preparatory School, as her husband worked there for 20 years and her grandsons attended the school and played on numerous SC sports teams.
More than anything, Phyllis prioritized her family and fully supported them in everything they did. She was referred to as our “Memaw.” Some of her favorite events were family birthday parties and trips to the beach and Disney World. She will be remembered as the most generous, fun loving, kind, thoughtful, and light-hearted woman in the world. Phyllis was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Clintonville.
