Hi Lisa... It's Melanie, you might remember me from 1979 when we were "still kids" at Myrtle Beach. It's remarkable when reading all the heartfelt messages from everyone who knew Dooder that we all say the same things. He was an incredibly good man and  Sooo smart, he taught me the skill of repairing radios and  to be your best everyday even if it's hard. He was a quiet leader with the drive to succeed, and he did, leaving behind a legacy of who he was with all of us who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ralph was a really great person, who I was with at Bergstrom AFB,Austin, Texas. He always had an easy going attitude. I had not known he was ill. Condolences to his Family. RIP To my fellow comrade in arms. God bless his family.

Lisa - this is “Dooders” cousin Katrina. Our hearts break for your loss and our prayers are with you and your family.  He was a joyful light in our lives, and Jackie and I have shared so many good memories with him over the course of our lives.  Praying God blesses and carries ya’ll through this time with good memories also.

Ralph was a wonderful guy I work at a police department while he was at B&C and he was always a joy to work with. I have great memories of him sorry for the loss.

We went through Basic Training for USAF together! His calm demeanor and influence helped me through a fearful difficult time! When I failed he was always my friend, and never judged me. Will miss him….. But I’ll see him again!! Dooder was the best!!!

Our lives are so much richer because he was in them. I loved him dearly. He could always always make me laugh. I thank my God for every remembrance of you. Fly high sweet friend.

I was so sad to hear of Dooders passing. I’ve always considered him a true friend. He was a big part of me not making really bad choices way back when. I know his big personality will be such a huge loss to you and your family. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

 Dooder was a good old boy from Paris, Tn. I served with him at Bergstrom AFB in Spec Flight of the 45th AMU. At that time he was a Tech Sergeant and I was a lowly A1C! Riding on the Launch truck, while he worked on the crossword puzzle in the daily newspaper was made a lot more fun by his good humor and endless stories.  Godspeed old friend! I will toast you today with a shot of George Dickel. “It was a pleasure and a hell of an evening”

Lisa, Bill and I were both so sorry to hear about Ralph. Bill really enjoyed working with Ralph and spending time with him on their golf trips. I also enjoyed working with him too when I filled in at the shop. Ralph was always a lot of fun to be around and made everybody laugh. The world will be a little less bright without him and I know how much you and your family are going to miss him. Rest in peace, good friend.

One of our fondest memories from our time at Myrtle Beach AFB was all the antics of Dooder. We had a great family of fellow military friends in our Com/Nav shop and Dooder was always the life of our parties with his jokes, sense of humor and all the pranks he pulled on us.

So sorry to hear of Ralph’s passing, it was always a pleasure to go into the B & C shop when he was the manager as he always had some sort of “words of advice” or a story to tell, it was never “in and out” when he was there, had many laughs with him.
