

Bob is survived by wife Joyce Kroeger, daughter Tracy Kroeger and son-in-law John Gates, daughter Kristine Kroeger, daughter Amanda Joyce and son-in-law Jonathan Joyce, as well as grandchildren Ryan Kroeger Gates and Samantha Kroeger Gates. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold Fredrick Kroeger and Berdena Kline Kroeger and sister Nancy Kroeger Scarbrough.
Born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Bob is a Purdue graduate, member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity, and was an artillery officer in the US Army. He began his career with AEP Service Corporation as a distribution engineer in Canton, Ohio. On August 29, 1964 he and Joyce were married in North Canton, OH. Soon thereafter, they moved to Somerville, New Jersey for Bob’s job with AEP in New York City. AEP then relocated to Columbus, OH and in 1983 Bob and Joyce moved to Worthington, OH to continue raising their family. Bob held many management positions in the AEP Engineering Division throughout his career. In later years, he was Manager of Nuclear Quality Assurance.
Upon retirement, Bob and Joyce travelled throughout Europe as well as enjoyed so many trips to visit their daughters in Minnesota, Hawaii, and California. He was an avid model railroad enthusiast and built an elaborate coal mining railroad community in his basement. Bob was a role model for strength and perseverance through many challenges. Family was always his top priority and we will miss him dearly.
Bob’s family will receive friends from 3pm to 4pm on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Schoedinger Funeral and Cremation Service-Worthington, 6699 N. High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob can be made to The American Cancer Society or The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
