Robert Lee Prior

Robert L. Prior passed away at Kobacker House on October 24, 2022, surrounded by family. Bob was born in Cambridge, MA July 1, 1941 to Dr. John A. and Helen Z. Prior. He graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 1959, where he played football and track.

He then studied at The Ohio State University where he graduated in 1963 with his degree in Business Administration. While at The Ohio State University he was a devoted member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He was an ardent Buckeye football fan and long-suffering Browns and Indians enthusiast. A longtime resident of Upper Arlington. Bob spent his career in distribution where he was an officer/part owner of Distribution Centers, Inc., CEO Vorys Brothers, Inc. and retired from Masterleo, Inc. Member (Deacon) Bethel Presbyterian Church. Activities included Columbus Rotary, Athletic Club, Catawba Island Club, Scioto Country Club and Past Commander – Columbus Sail & Power Squadron.

Preceded in death by sister, Patricia Prior, brother Ricky Prior and brother-in-law John Melaragno. Survived by wife Patricia Prior, brother, John Prior, Jr., sister Ann Melaragno, daughter, Patricia Giles (Dobie), sons, Robert Randall Prior (Michelle), Andrew Prior, grandchildren, Maia Giles, Payton Giles, Jonathan Prior, and Sophia Prior, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John A. Prior Professorship in Medicine – fund # 605922, The Ohio State University, 1480 W. Lane Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43221 or Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1735 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220.

Visitation will be at Schoedinger Worthington,6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio on Friday November 4, 2022 from 3pm – 7pm. Funeral Service will be at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 1735 Bethel Road, Columbus, Ohio 43220 at 10am on Saturday November 5, 2022.
