Ruth P. Stumph

Ruth Patricia Stumph, age 98, of Westerville, passed away May 29, 2026, at Danbury of Columbus. She was born in Pickaway County on November 8, 1927. She graduated from Hamilton Township High School in 1945 where she was a member of the Franklin Honor Society. She married Charles William Stumph (Bill) on September 18, 1948 and worked at the Farm Bureau until she started her family. Ruth was a member of the North Linden Elementary PTA and served as President. As the children grew older she was an Avon Representative in her neighborhood for many years and won numerous awards as a team leader. Ruth enjoyed nature, growing flowers and watching the birds. She was a caring and considerate person who loved her family and loved spending time with them. Although she was unable to attend church in her later years, she was a member of Karl Road Christian Church for many years. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Hugh M. and Georgia Pauline Smith (McDonald), her husband Charles William Stumph and brother Hugh M. Smith Jr. She is survived by her children Gary (Cheryl) Stumph, Jennifer (Scott) Sonnenberg and Michael (Carolyn) Stumph, her four grandsons, Bryon (Heather) Stumph, Brad Stumph, Michael Sonnenberg and Patrick Sonnenberg and four great grand-daughters, Josephine, Kaylee, Kelsey and Carly Stumph, a brother Donald (Elaine) Smith and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 4 – 7 PM Wednesday June 3rd at Schoedinger Worthington where a funeral service will be held at 10 AM on June 4th. Rev. Dr. Chris Jacobsen will officiate. Interment at Sunbury Memorial Park.
