Scott graduated from GlenOak High School and went on to obtain a Business Degree from The Ohio State University, where he was also a proud member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. During his time at the university, he was a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Scott was a passionate salesman, having worked for Spalding Golf, co-founder of Truberry Group Homes, director of Sales at Bob Webb Homes, and Corinthian Homes. He was deeply involved in the community and served as a valued member of the Board of Directors at Cornerstone of Hope. Scott was also an avid golfer, finding joy in sharing this passion with his loved ones.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Jane Shively. He is survived by his children, Catherine Shively and Eric Bialek of Sandy Springs, GA, and Sara (Shively) and Jacob Worrel of Columbus, OH; his siblings, Craig and Kelley Shively of Columbus, OH, and Denise (Shively) and Jeff Bratschie of Charlotte, NC; his nieces/nephews, Cameron and Kaitlyn Shively, Lauren, and Drew Bolender, and other extended family members and friends.
Scott found immense joy in golfing with his loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured. He possessed an insatiable love for travel and an unwavering passion for golf. His eyes lit up with excitement as he explored new destinations, immersing himself in diverse cultures and landscapes. However, it was on the golf course where he discovered his true sense of joy. Whether teeing off in Ireland, California, West Virginia, or contending with the challenges of the Hell bunker at St. Andrews, Scott's love for travel and golf was a defining part of his adventurous spirit.
Scott cherished the wonderful experience of walking both of his daughters' down the aisle at their weddings in 2022. These joyous occasions brought immense happiness to Scott as he celebrated this significant and memorable milestone in his daughters' lives. It was a time filled with banter, golf, love, and cherished moments for Scott and his family.
Scott will be deeply missed for his grand schemes, his love of diet coke, caesar salads, and his unwavering commitment to those he held dear. Scott's warm spirit and lasting impact on those around him will always be remembered.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hazeldon Betty Ford Foundation and Cornerstone of Hope in his memory.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
