Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Steve was the beloved son of the late Sophia Conrad and Stephen Pasmic. He was preceded in death by his son, David Joseph Petrovich and grandson John Albert Petrovich. He attended College Preparatory School in Philadelphia, PA. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1951 and served during the Korean war aboard the USS Harry F. Bauer until 1955, when he earned an honorable discharge. Steve continued his military service by serving 4 years in the Navy Reserve. He worked for Rohm and Haas in Philadelphia as a chemical worker, retiring in 1990. He moved to Hickory Hills in White Haven, PA, and later to Columbus Ohio in 2021. Steve was an avid hunter for most of his life in the Pocono mountains, enjoying the outdoors and the sport. He served as President of the Hickory Hills Board of Directors and was lovingly known as the Honorary Mayor of Hickory Hills. Steve and his wife, Shari, were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in White Haven, PA, and recently St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Worthington, OH. Steve made friends easily wherever he went and was known to have a joke of the day which he shared with everyone he met.
Steve was the beloved husband of Sharon Petrovich for 47 years. Their love was endearing and they were devoted to one another. In addition to his wife, Steve is survived by his children, Stephen (Michelle) Petrovich, Barbara (Ken) Leon (Petrovich), Robert (Jennifer) Petrovich, Dawn (Joel) Gerber, and David Denenzio, his beloved 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Steve will be missed by those whom he loved and loved him in return. Rest in peace till we meet again.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 N. High St., Worthington, OH 43085 on Aug. 20th from 5-7 pm. There will be an additional service in Pennsylvania at St. Patrick's Church, 411 Allegheny St., White Haven, PA 18661 on Aug. 24th, with visitation from 9:30-10 am and Mass directly following. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Cemetery, 5 Tunnel Road in White Haven following Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Michael’s Church in Worthington and St. Patrick’s Church in White Haven, respectively.
