Sue was born on November 19, 1942, in Akron, Ohio, to Laura (Barrick) and Fred Alvarez.
She married the love of her life, Tañi Prieto, on May 11, 1963. They met while she was visiting family in Spain — a true love story. Sue was deeply adored by her husband, who often referred to her as an angel and the most wonderful woman in the world.
Throughout her life, Sue built meaningful careers. She worked as an x-ray technician and later as a cake decorator at her family’s business, Fred’s Bakery. Sue eventually found her true calling in real estate, where her warmth and gift for connecting with people helped her build a strong community of friends and clients.
She truly was the “hostess with the mostest.” Known for her vibrant spirit, delicious meals, and unmatched hosting skills, Sue turned every gathering into a celebration. She made the best paella and empanadas in town and was happiest when surrounded by family, friends, her beloved dogs, and a house full of laughter. Generous with both her love and time, she was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer a warm embrace, or provide a listening ear.
Sue Ann Prieto is survived by her husband, Tañi Prieto; son, Tañi Prieto (Denise); granddaughter, Jordan Bias (Jacob); and grandson, Ryan Prieto. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Fred.
Her family extends heartfelt thanks to Willow Brook Christian Home and Cap City Hospice for their compassion and care.
A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered. All who knew and loved Sue are welcome to attend and celebrate her life on June 4, 2026, with Visitation at Schoedinger Funeral Home, 6699 North High Street, Worthington, Ohio, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
