It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our beloved wife and mother, Susan, on August 28, 2025. Susan was born in Wheeling, West Virginia on October 14, 1941. The family moved to Columbus when Susan was 2 years old. She attended schools in Upper Arlington, Worthington, and Columbus graduating from Columbus North High School in 1959 where she was a varsity cheerleader. She also attended classes at THE Ohio State University. She married Bill, her high school sweetheart on January 2, 1960 and just celebrated her 65th wedding anniversary. When asked about the nature of her employment she would simply say she was a “bookkeeper”. After working for several businesses, her last job was at Demers Financial Planning working with her daughter Connie. She loved college football, especially Ohio State. She learned the fundamentals and rules from her father. She could play, coach, and referee at the same time. She was absolutely worn out after every game. Susan was predeceased by her parents, Roy and Audrey Dorn, and her sister Linda (Tommy). She is survived by her husband Bill, her daughters Connie and Cathy (Randy), her grandkids Alex and Alyssa, her brother Bill (Shirley), her sisters Cindi (Gil) and Kathy (Terry), her brother-in-law Bob (Nancy), nieces and nephews, and her two dogs, Chloe and Woody. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Franklin County Dog Shelter or the Columbus Humane Society.
A visitation for Susan will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A funeral service will occur Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 6699 N High Street, Worthington, OH 43085. A burial will occur Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Union Cemetery, 3349 Olentangy River Rd, Columbus, OH 43202.
