Terry was born to Gerald and Donna Sanders in Napoleon, Ohio, on December 20, 1950. He grew up in Defiance, Ohio, and graduated from Ayersville High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Toledo in 1972 and continued his education throughout his life, achieving professional designations of CFP™, ChFC, and CLU.
Terry is survived by his wife and business partner of 40 years, Kristen Sydney, and their children: Kelsey Sydney Sanders and Kyler Sydney Sanders, both of Columbus, Ohio, and Tarayn Sydney Sanders of Brooklyn, New York. He is also survived by his mother, Donna Sullivan of Defiance, Ohio; his brother, Kenneth Sanders, and sister-in-law, Robin Sanders, of Hicksville, Ohio; sisters-in-law Judith Savage of Sherman Oaks, California, and Deborah Thompson and brother-in-law Dr. Robert Thompson of The Villages, Florida; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Kole Sydney Sanders; his father, Gerald Sanders; his stepfather, Harlan Sullivan; and his cousin, Daniel Sasseen.
Terry was a Private Wealth Advisor with Sagemark Consulting Private Wealth Services for 44 years. His broker-dealer affiliations included Cigna Financial Advisors for 21 years, Lincoln Financial Advisors for 23 years, and most recently, Osaic Financial Advisors. He served as a trustee on the boards of Columbus School for Girls and Marburn Academy, and as a Deacon at Liberty Presbyterian Church, where he and his family have worshipped for 40 years.
Terry loved spending time at his summer home in Sand Point, Michigan—a gathering place for family and friends—where he could watch the sun rise and set over the lake and pull the kids on tubes behind his jet ski. He also cherished annual family trips to Walt Disney World during spring break, creating lifelong memories with his children.
He leaves behind a legacy of faith, service, and love—for God, his family, his community, his clients, and his many dear friends and neighbors.
