Thomas J. Lewis, 75, of Worthington, passed away on July 3, 2024. He was born on September 13, 1948 to the late Gordon V. and Martha E. (Henderson) Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Martha J. (Marti) Valore, and brother-in-laws Joseph P. Valore and Nicholas Mastrangelo.
A 1970 graduate of The Ohio State University, Tom served with distinction as a Fire Control Officer in the United States Army. Upon his honorable discharge, he began a lengthy career in the fields of transportation and fabrication, counting DynaTurf, the Liebert Corporation, and the Emerson Electric Corporation among his more notable employers.
To the end, Tom was a lover of fine music, a drinker of expensive bourbon, and a collector of high quality firearms. His on-line gaming exploits, too numerous to mention in this forum, were legendary. Tom will be greatly missed by his family including sister Mary A. Mastrangelo, nephews Peter Valore, Mark Valore, nieces Jane (Nick) Reyer, Ellen (Joe) Moscato, Jennifer Boruck as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. His sly wit, irreverent sense of humor, snappy repartee, and boisterous persona will be sorely missed as family gatherings and holiday celebrations will no longer be the same.
A gathering to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Schoedinger Worthington, 6699 North High Street.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Tom’s memory to American Cancer Society.
