Timothy Leo Creedon passed away peacefully at his home on June 25, 2026. He was born to Joseph H. and Ruth E. (Glorius) on October 4, 1949 in Troy, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Pat and Kevin. He is survived in the memories of many, including his brother Larry, sister Julie (Steve) Elke, son Joe (Sara Lacy) Creedon and beloved granddaughter Nora Creedon. Tim’s nieces Renee (Jimmy Mays) Creedon-Mays and Michelle (Jason Harvey) Creedon; nephews Tom (Sara) Elke and Matt (Rosemary) Elke; and many friends grieve his loss.
Throughout his entire life, Tim was never lacking in effort. It is a near certainty that he was the hardest working person in whichever room he chose to be. His work ethic started at a young age with an early morning paper route with his brothers. He later graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School in 1967, and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in history from Ohio Dominican University. Following college he became a commissioned officer in the U.S. Navy. Tim served as a pilot in the Navy and seriously considered pursuing a career in the military. Instead, he returned to school and earned his J.D. from Capital University in 1982. While he was licensed to practice law, his path led him to law enforcement. He served as a Special Agent in the F.B.I. for 24 years. Tim was widely known as a tenacious investigator. He had an incredible memory, he was extremely detail oriented and he was passionate about seeing justice served. During his career his work was instrumental in securing convictions, including in several nationally known cases. Always in great shape, he was a member of the F.B.I. SWAT team into his 50s. While he was distinguished in his career, Tim was most proud to be ‘GeePa’ to his only granddaughter Nora.
For the past 7 years, Tim was utterly engrossed with his granddaughter. He never missed an opportunity to spend time with her, and he was quick to share photos and videos with others. In keeping with his diligent nature, he wrote over 1,600 pages he titled, ‘Our Story’ to Nora. In the volumes he details events in his life, the times they spent together, his view on life and many words of wisdom. Tim had set a goal of seeing his granddaughter graduate high school. Sadly, a glioblastoma took him away without any warning and far too soon. He was unquestionably an amazing grandfather.
A lifelong Catholic, Tim was true to his ethics and values daily. His innate sense of direction was second only to his moral compass. He was exceedingly generous, not only with his money but with his time. He had most tools and would gladly help with a project. While not much of a cook, he would never show up to a gathering empty handed. It made him happy to bring some sort of food or drink to celebrate with friends and family. Tim was also generous with sharing his knowledge of history and politics with others. He was extremely well read and enjoyed discussing current events, world history and his aspirations for the direction of our country.
Tim was an exemplary man who held himself to account. He took pride in the fact that he was as self-made as any man can be. He was a loyal friend and deeply loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
Friends are welcome to remember and honor Tim at Schroedinger Worthington (6699 N. High St.) on July 7th from 4-7pm. There will be a Catholic mass at 11am at the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery on July 8th, and then he will be laid to rest.
