Valeria (Capoccia) Romanelli went to be with the Lord and was reunited with her beloved late husband, Mariano, on August 15, 2026, while surrounded by her loving family. Valeria was born on April 8, 1940, in Alvito, Italy, to Mariano and Maddalena Capoccia. Her Italian heritage, deep faith, and devotion to family remained at the heart of who she was throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons, Domenico (Teresa) Romanelli and Vittorio (Sonia) Romanelli; her beloved grandchildren, Cristina (Chris), Jessica, Antonio (Gabrielle), Mattea, and Luca; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Francesco and Marcella. She is also survived by her sister, Rita (Giuseppe) Tata; brother, Nino (Loretta) Capoccia; and brother-in-law, Vince (Gina) Romanelli.
For those who knew Valeria, her love for family and friends was so often expressed through her cooking. Those fortunate enough to sit around a table she prepared knew that every meal was made with love. Food was more than something she served - it was one of the ways she cared for people, brought family together, and made everyone feel welcome. One of Valeria's greatest joys throughout the years was preparing meals for the priests at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. It was a simple but meaningful way for her to share both her gift for cooking and her generous heart. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in caring for others. Above all, Valeria will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her generosity, her faith, and the love she poured into those around her. The memories created around her table and the traditions she passed down will continue to live on through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
