William David “Bill” Agnew was a man who embraced life after a hard day’s work. He knew how to balance it with an exhilarating workout at the gym, happy hour with family and friends, enjoying the symphony, or taking a walk on the beach. Perhaps his greatest priority was his unwavering faith. What a glorious journey as he left his life on Earth to join God in Heaven on January 9, 2023.
He was a longtime member of Summerville Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder, treasurer and finance committee member. He also volunteered for over 20 years as a garden tour guide at Middleton Place Plantation.
He was preceded to Heaven by his beloved wife, June, parents William and Bertha Agnew, brother Lloyd “Bud” Agnew, nephew Jim Agnew, brother and sister in law John and Florence Lyman and his lifelong friend Frank Schultz.
He is survived by his son, John Agnew, daughter Patricia Fodor, (Steve), sister Bette Vanier (Byron), nephew, Scott Vanier (Jennifer), nephew, Gregg Vanier, nephew Mike Agnew (Sheri) and lifelong friend Marilyn Schultz as well as many loved extended family members. He is also survived by his adored puppy, Molly.
Celebrations of life are being planned for friends and family in Columbus, Ohio and in Summerville, South Carolina. Dates to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Association to aid in the battle against this brutal disease.
