

William “Bill” Thomas Lyons, Jr., 68 of Worthington, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 27th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 3, 1956 in Chambley, France, where his parents, Elizabeth “Betty” and William Thomas Lyons, Sr., were stationed for military service, Bill grew up to become a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness, humor, and unwavering generosity.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Elizabeth “Betty” and William Thomas Lyons, Sr. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Cheryl Lyons; his children, Ashley (Mark) Lovat, Tommy (Phil Strodes), and Josh; his grandchildren, Andrew and Amelia Lovat; his grandpuppies, Grace and Ruby; and his grandcats, Charlie and Lily. He also leaves behind his brother, John Mark Lyons (Rena), with whom he shared a lifelong bond of brotherhood and countless cherished memories.
A lifelong learner and dedicated professional, Bill graduated from Franklin University and enjoyed a successful career as an electrical engineer at Cutler Hammer and later at Mettler Toledo. His passion for problem-solving and craftsmanship extended beyond his work, as he was an avid woodworker who created countless treasures for his family. His creations will forever serve as a reminder of his talent and love.
Bill had a contagious laugh and a warm, welcoming spirit. Though not one to seek the spotlight, he was always present in conversations, offering his wisdom, humor, and support to those around him. He was the go-to person for fixing anything around the house, always ready to lend a helping hand. Bill had a deep love for animals and cherished his grandpuppies and grandcats as part of the family. His love for Disney was unmatched, and he took great joy in taking his family to Disney as often as possible, creating magical memories that will be cherished for generations.
Bill’s legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family will hold a private service in honor of Bill.
