I met the Godly woman that I was blessed to call "Aunt Liz" back in 1982 during my first year as a student at Wilberforce University.  I knew no one there at the time, and was overjoyed when I encountered Aunt Liz after I began attending the First United Christian Church in Xenia.  It wasn't long before  Aunt Liz and Uncle Scope took me and other college students under their loving wings to provide encouragement, guidance, and much wisdom sufficient to keep us on the straight and narrow.  I always thought of Aunt Liz as a rare find:  As loving as she was no-nonsense; as beautiful as she was hard-working and down-to-earth; as fun as she was faithful (to Uncle Scope and the Lord); and just as intelligent as she was willing to meet folks where they were so that they felt at ease.  Aunt Liz lovingly dispensed life guidance without judgement.  She and Uncle Scope had me over often for brunch and/or dinner on Sundays (every college student's dream!), and made me feel wanted, loved and cared for.  I have no doubt that she is now celebrating her  life journey with Uncle Scope, even as she eagerly anticipates her crown of glory for a life that was 'well done.'

I met Liz in late 1962.  I was employed @Wright-Patterson AFB and rented a room from her in her home.  Later that year my sister joined us.  Liz was such a kind and generous person.  She was like a sister to both me and my sister.  We had many laughs together.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her!

Aunt Liz, thank you for being a pivotal part in my early childhood and foundation. I remember you, Uncle Scope, David and Lass, like a hard wired memory from before my birth. I know you and Uncle Scope are together again. If there is a heaven where everyone rejoins their Earthly loves... Please tell my grandparents the Kidds and Lasaunders Holland they are missed and loved everyday. I love you Aunt Liz.

Its always sad when God calls an angel home...I told her that I wouldn't cry when I heard of her HOMEGOING.. but I  lied... Mother Swanson, God loves you best.  Everlasting Rest. Glorious Rest. Mrs. Swanson had a profound impact on my life! She was the first person, other than my parents, who challenged me to rise above my circumstances and obstacles, to stop making excuses for why I can't achieve my goals and recognize the gifts and talents God has blessed me with. Her words ring in my ears even now, "You are special! " Thanks, Mrs. Swanson for believing in me and helping me reach my potential! Save me a seat in the choir!!

Mrs. Swanson was a wonderful teacher and she truly cared about everyone she met. She helped to guide me in the right direction to be a better person. My all time favorite

My dearest angel has received her wings.       I thank Aunt Liz for her prayers, love, strength and encouragement these 30 plus years.    You have been the wind beneath my wings and I will always cherish the fond memories and our discussions we had during my tenure at Wilberforce University and there afterwards.  I still have every letter you have sent to me.

Mrs. Swanson was my 4th grade teacher and she took time out of her day to talk to me about some personal things going on in my life. When I felt nobody cared she took time for me out of her busy day to make sure I knew someone cared. A remarkable woman!!!

Mrs. Swanson was sweet and so very kind and thoughtful.  She is resting now in our heavenly Father's arms.  GOD BLESS YOU ANGEL

Such a kind hearted soul. Mrs. Swanson was my teacher and very dear to me. She will be missed! Sending up prayers for her family.

Ms. Swanson was a shining example of GOD'S love and grace.  Her warmth and kindness was like no other.  She will be missed but she is at peace and at rest with her LORD
