Just want you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers, Andi, Teri, Gary, and the rest of the Spencer family!  Shirley was a one-of-a-kind lady!  I always considered her a "second mom" and felt like I belonged anytime I was in her home...

I want the Spencer family to know how much we love and appreciate having Shirley and you all,  as part of our family.  She will be greatly missed.  It made me feel so good to know that she liked my beef and noodles as much as Mom's.  I hope that I will get to see you all soon.  I'm sorry that I won't be able to make the showing or service.  After having my knee replacement, it is hard for me to travel too far without swelling and pain.  Just remember, that I will keep all of you in my prayers. I will never forget the first time I met Shirley.  We had just moved in next door to her and she came over one afternoon with a plate of cookies to welcome us.  She told us we were always welcome in her house and said she wanted us to call her "Grandma Shirley"  There was not a day that went by that she did not wave to us and say Hi when she saw us outside She was a wonderful neighbor and eventually became a good friend.  We were sad when she moved, but because of her example, when our new neighbors moved in, I took them a bag of diapers to welcome them (they had a newborn baby). Thank you, "Grandma Shirley" We will never forget you!
