Abe Gonzales lived a life full of laughter, faith, and hard work. At age 87, Abe passed away on April 2, 2026, surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of joy and devotion. Born on April 28, 1938, in Worland, Wyoming, to Guadalupe Gonzales and Mary Gonzales, Abe grew up with a strong work ethic and a heart for service.
A graduate of Wapato High School, Abe earned a college degree in Ministry, a calling that defined much of his life. Abe was a man who never met a stranger. Whether he was working for the school district, for the government, at Budget Office Furniture where he was the owner or standing behind the pulpit as a Pastor, he treated everyone with kindness and respect. His most cherished role was as a Pastor, where he shared his profound knowledge of the Bible and his love for God.
In 1985, Abe married the love of his life, Marian. Together they shared 35 years of marriage centered on faith and serving others. Abe was known for his infectious sense of humor, his constant happiness, and his ability to make a friend out of every stranger he met. He found joy in the simple beauties of life: being outdoors, flowers, drawing, exploring new places, and his collection of antique model cars.
Abe is survived by his son, Abraham Jr.; his daughters, Kim and Gayle; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Lou and George, and sisters, Eunice, Inez, Rachel, and Gina, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marian; his parents, Guadalupe and Mary; his brother, Dean; his sisters, Frances and Bernice; his grandson Neal and his twin sons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 1, 2026, at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
