
Albert Omer Ricard arrived December 10, 1926, the second of ten children born to Phillip Albert and Mary Caroline (Carter) Ricard of Yakima, WA. He attended St. Paul Cathedral and school and after graduating the 8th grade started his first job with Dependable Ladders also working the hop fields in Moxee. After pounding stakes for surveyors at the Sunnyside Dam site he found work at Associated Grocers and worked there until he was drafted at the age of 18.
He served with the US Army in the artillery division during the occupation of Japan. Afterwards he returned to employment at Associated Grocers and on October 1, 1949 he married his one and only sweetheart Nadine (Misemer). Al went on to retired from Associated Grocers after 47 years of dependable and honest service.
He was a faithful believer in God, a loving and devoted husband to his wife Nadine of 57 years, a caring father to their son Dennis Lee Ricard, and an honored and respected brother by his siblings. Al was a proud patriot of his country and a giving benefactor to her veterans. He loved all of his beautiful sisters and each of his loyal brothers. He was blessed with his granddaughter Megan Cypher, a most helpful gentle man Harley and his great grandchildren Miranda, Danny and Junior. Also a very special niece Valerie and her husband Gary Smith, a great niece Jen and great nephew Jason. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife Nadine, their loving son Dennis, his parents, his brothers Robert; Arthur, Fred, and Francis, his sisters; Kathleen and Bernadine.
He is survived by his loyal and dedicated brother Bill and Sharon Ricard, Loving sisters Rose and Jim Warner and Caroline Johnson. Special sisters- in-law, June and Paula as well as numerous cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family.
Funeral services will be held at the Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. Concluding services with full military honors conducted by members of William Wharton Post #379 and Washington State National Guard will follow at West Hills Memorial Park.
