Anyone who knows Alex or who’s met him knows that it’s hard for Alex not to share his life story or his thoughts and opinions within the first few moments of meeting him, so here we are as messengers, to share them on his behalf for those who didn’t know.
He was the first born to Linda and Joe Marquez on December 1st, 1993, and spent all of his life here in Yakima close to his family. As his partner in crime Aaliyah Bueno put it, he’s a very classic man and always has been. He’s always liked what he liked which is the Lakers player Kobe Bryant, the Seahawks, and his favorite artist was Kendrick Lamar. His favorite movie was Back to the Future and his favorite show was Breaking Bad. He spent copious amounts of his life playing video games with his friends at the expense of many of us losing sleep because of it, especially his brother Marc.
He, along with Marc, spent a lot of their adolescent years working on cars with the help of their dad, Joe. Despite all of that, what he loved more than all those things was his family, especially his and Aaliyah’s beautiful daughter Imari Marquez who was born despite almost impossible circumstances. Tía Lola mentioned a time where he expressed to her how one of his dreams was for all of his family to get together again like old times. It’s almost certain that with all of you here, we made that possible for him and that his heart is now full witnessing all of you that showed up for him and his family.
Alex, along with Laura and Marc, grew up in church and went every Sunday as a family. The one thing Alex kept with him throughout his 29 years of life is that he never once lost his faith in God. He never lost sight of the bigger picture and I’m sure until his last day here with us on September 17th, 2023 he continued to have faith and is now resting easy in paradise cruising in the sunset in his red Chevy El Camino.
A visitation for Alex will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Keith & Keith Funeral Home.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.keithandkeith.com for the Marquez family.
