

Amos Vela, 46 of Yakima passed away on October 18, 2012 at Yakima Regional Hospital. Amos was born on August 2, 1966 in Yakima to Amado Vela, Sr. and Carol Ann Chandler.
Amos loved life and lived life on the edge. He was always up for an adventure . He spent a lot of time outdoors, hunting for deer, fishing and camping. He was a joker always making people laugh and playing practical jokes . His dog was his best friend, there wasn’t anywhere he went that Niki didn’t go. He also really enjoyed fixing cars to enter and race in the demolition derby. He will be missed dearly.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Ann Gayken of Yakima, daughter, Jaimee (Jaime) Vela-Castro of Porterville, CA; grandson, Anthony Reyes of Porterville, CA; brothers, Kevin McAlphin of Arizona, Victor Vela of Texas; sisters, Tina Weedin of Yakima, Melissa (Darrell) Wynn of Richland and his best friend Niki. He is preceded in death by his father, step-father and grandparents.
