Anna Lutz was born on March 3, 1932 in Glen Ullin, ND, the daughter of Ferdinand and Anna (Wagner) Duppong. Anna is survived by her daughters, Nicki Kerslake, Janie Lynch, and Linda Blackham; her grandchildren, Jerami, Alissa, Andy, Cassandra and Joshua; and her great grandchildren Mackinzie, Jerami Jr., Norah, Piper, Sascia and Mikey and stepchildren Susan, Carol, Marjorie and Steven. Anna is preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Matt, John, Ferdinand, George, Nick), sisters (Clara, Freida, Alice), her son Kevin, and stepchildren Connie and Thomas.
When Anna’s father retired, the family relocated from Glen Ullin to Buhl, ID. Anna graduated high school in Buhl, met and married Eugene Blackham in 1951, and they had four children together.
In 1964, Anna and Robert Lutz married and the family relocated to Royal City, WA. In Royal City they began a life of farming and raising the children.
Once Anna’s children were raised and gone from the home, she began a new career. Anna and daughter, Linda, completed beauty school together. Anna celebrated her 50th birthday while attending beauty school. Anna worked in a beauty shop in Mattawa, WA for a short time and then bought her home in Desert Aire, WA. She set up a hairdressing business in her home, and worked at that until retiring at 70. Anna took a lot of pride in buying her home and establishing her career on her own; and she was looking forward to making that final mortgage payment on her home this coming December.
Anna always loved her quilting. She created many beautiful quilts over the years. She was so proud to bring them to the family reunions and share them with her family. She helped family members organize auctions to sell family treasures at the reunions, and always sold raffle tickets for the quilts she would bring along to share. The money raised was used to help fund the next family reunion. Anna loved attending the family reunions, and would talk and reminisce about them a lot.
Anna’s family thanks each and every one of you for all of your prayers, support, visits, phone calls, and voicemail messages. We know it meant a great deal to her and that she thought the world of you all. As well, we wish to offer a special thanks to Yuli and Edgar Martinez, her family, and the staff of Eternal Life Adult Family Home. The love and care they provided Anna through her final journey was a blessing to us all.
