Arlene was born in Yakima, WA on July 23, 1930 to Lester and Olive Sauvé. She was raised in Yakima Valley and graduated from Yakima High School in 1948.
Arlene married Robert Spence on April 10, 1949. They were married 53 years before Bob passed away.
She and Bob had 3 daughters: Mary Diane Shoddy, Karen Christine Neumeyer and Karol Denise Melcher.
Being a mother, wife, sister, grandmother and a 3-time great-grandmother was her pride and joy.
She was employed many years at the Donut Shop. Her favorite hobby was singing in Sweet Adelines where she made many lifelong friends. She also enjoyed gardening, camping and cooking.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband Robert Spence, her daughters Karen Neumeyer and Mary Shoddy. Arlene is survived by her brother Marvin Sauvé and his wife Nancy of Seattle, her daughter Karol Melcher of Yakima, her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Thursday April 25, 2019 from 4-8 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday April 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Keith and Keith Funeral Home followed by a Graveside committal at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
