Mom passed away two days before her 95th birthday, June 27, 2019 at Landmark Care Center in Yakima, Wash. She was born on June 29, 1924 in Rochester, New Hampshire. She was a French descendant. Her parents were Arthur and Rose LaFontaine. She married Jesse Terwadow May 30, 1942. In 1952 Jesse and Audrey and their daughter Sue moved to Yakima, Washington. Audrey worked at Snokist cannery for 38 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Terwadow of 51 years, her three brothers, two sisters and parents.
Audrey is survived by her two daughters, Sue Ellis (Don) of Yakima and Kathy (Katie) Eims of Zillah, granddaughter Leanne Cox (Blane), two grandsons, Andi Ellis and Bryan Ellis, and four great-grandsons, Tyler Cox, Brandon Cox, Hunter Ellis and Chase Cox. She is also survived by her extended family, Bill and Donna Knight and the staff at Landmark Care Center.
Audrey’s hobby was sewing. She made quilts, clothes and purses. She enjoyed giving family and friends something she handmade. She sewed several dog quilts and donated them to Yakima Humane Shelter. She also gardened; growing flowers was her favorite. She was always eager to go to a movie or one of the kid’s sports event. She loved to travel with her family and mostly she loved her family very much as well as her family’s pets, “The Grandpets.” Dogs or barnyard critters, if they needed Grandma’s love or hugs she gave it to them. Thank you Mom for giving us your love, hugs and kisses.
She was never idle. She had the “Pioneer Spirit”; at the age of 94 she was still working. She worked at the corner store at Landmark Care Center three mornings a week. The corner store was the highlight of her week.
The family would like to give a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Landmark and Hospice for their excellent care. And to her very dear friend Annie Oord who took her to all the quilt shows.
