Barbara Ann (Moore) Daniels passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2019, with family at her side. Barbara was born in Takoma Park, Maryland to Frank and Frances (Bonnie) Moore on January 4, 1934. She graduated from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland in 1952 as a member of the school’s first graduating class. After high school, she began working in the secretarial field for the Department of Defense where she met her husband, Jack Daniels. They were married in 1953 and were stationed in Germany for two years. While in Europe, Barbara enjoyed visiting many famous sites, walking the beaches of the French and Italian Riviera’s, skiing in the Alps, and purchasing a bright red Karmann Ghia, one of the first off the assembly line in 1955. Her first child was born while she was living in Germany. After returning to the US, she was blessed with three more children and enjoyed being a full-time mother. Her family went overseas again, living in Japan for four years. While there, she took up the hobbies of oil painting and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement. She remained a busy carpooling mother upon the family’s return to Maryland. She moved to Yakima in 1973. A few years later, she began working for the Diocese of Yakima. She moved to Federal Way, Washington in 1989 and worked for Boeing for several years before retiring and returning to Yakima. Barbara was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved to be with her family, especially with her Kodak Insta-Camera in hand, lining up everyone for group photos. She loved talking about her children and grandchildren. Family was very important to her and she prayed for them unceasingly. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lee Moore and Robert Moore; son-in-law, George Schroeder; and her former husband and friend, Jack Daniels. She is survived by her four children; Debra Schroeder of Vero Beach, Florida; Nancy Jewett (Doug), Chris Daniels (Deanna), and Tom Daniels (Darlene), all of Yakima. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Daniel Schroeder (Kristin), Jessica Wick (Russ), Brandon Jewett, Corinne Winterfeld (Nathaniel), Andrea Daniels, Brendon Daniels (Ally), Justine Henyan “(Mike), and Dustin Daniels (Ashley). In addition, she is survived by ten great-grandchildren with one more on the way; two brothers, Carl Moore (Madeleine) and Dick Moore (Patsy); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
