Barbara met her husband Joseph in 1951 & they were married 56 happy years and had four children together. In 1971, they joined a group called “Marriage Encounter” which took them as far away as Rome to spread the word of God and the Holy Spirit, touching many lives. In 1973, they moved their family to Yakima, WA. Together they owned Joes Market in Wiley City. Barbara also worked at Bi-Mart until she retired. Barbara’s biggest joy were her flowers. Many people would stop and admire them asking what her trick was. She loved to cook and we will never forget her famous meatballs. She loved a good bazaar, antiquing, and that special dollar store where she would buy her cards for various occasions. She would spot those bargains at any store and loved very long strolls through Walmart! Her biggest devotion was to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by her children, Elaine and Kevin Golob, Patty McKenna and Jeff Bake and Barbara Iaggi; grandchildren Patrick and Jesika, Kate and Ian, Greg and Betty, Resa and Colton, Sean and Terri, Bradley and Bree, Irene and Josh, Elaina and Dan, Erica and Neil, Sean and Brandice, Elizabeth, Michael, and Madeline; and 22 great grandchildren.
Mommy we watched the angels take you and know you were welcomed into the Lords heavenly light. You are dancing with daddy again. What a reunion that must have been. Letting go of you was the hardest thing to do. We will miss you and your glorious laugh more than words can say. We know we shall meet again. You will always be our sunshine.
Barbara is preceded in death by her husband Joseph F. McKenna and her son Joseph R. McKenna.
