

Barbara moved to Yakima when she was a year old and spent her life there. She was a loving and compassionate person with a heart of gold. She graduated from Eisenhower High School and married her high school sweetheart Howard D. Ocobock on March 20, 1971. She gave birth to her only biological child, Trenton D. Ocobock on October 19, 1972. Barbara was an amazing mother. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her son. He was the center of her life. Barbara worked as a social worker and retired from the Department of Social and Health Services.
She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family and making conversation. She had some great friends and was adored by many. She would do anything for the ones she loved. She loved her dog scruffy, which she is preceded in death by. She loved getting her hair done and spending time with her grandson Trenton and her sister Donna. She was the best friend, best sister, best mother and the greatest Nana.
Surviving family include her sister, Donna Burke, brother Duane Long, brother, Roger Long, step sister, Carol Shafer, and her affectionately adopted daughter, Amanda Worley and her children, Anthony and Trenton Worley; her step-sisters, Patsy Long and Carol Shafter. She was preceded in death by her son, Trenton D. Ocobock, her husband Howard D. Ocobock and mother, Bobbie Gidge.

Funeral services will be held at the Keith & Keith Terrace Heights Chapel on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at 12:00 p.m. Concluding services and burial will follow at Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
