Benjamin “Ben” Joseph Garza

December 2, 1981September 11, 2018

Benjamin Joseph Garza, 36, of Harrah, WA passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018. Benjamin Joseph Garza was born on December 2, 1981 to Frank and Ann Garza. He grew up in the lower valley and graduated from White Swan High School in 2000. In the winter of 1999 Ben survived a horrific car accident that left him with a severely broken neck. He never gave up and even loved competing in three pirate plunder adventure races later in life.

After school, Ben began a long and happy career for Labbee Inc. The place he spent many summers of his youth growing into the man we loved. The last couple of years he worked for the company A Special Cleaning Service, where so many new faces had the privilege of getting to know “Benson.”

Ben was one of the most kind and generous people we have ever known. He was loyal to his friends to a fault, and if you ever became his friend you would always be in his heart.

He loved to sing Karaoke and entertain anyone who would watch his show. Tell tales of his travels around the U.S. on his motorcycle. Show off his skills as a black belt in a “friendly” wrestling match, listening to anything Metallica, or just kick back with you telling jokes.

His passing has come as a shock to everyone who knew him. He will be loved, missed, and remembered by his family and many friends.

The sun will no longer shine as bright now that we have lost your light. Never above you, never below you, but always beside you.

Ben is survived by his parents Ann and Frank Garza, his brother Abe (Jackie) Garza, his twin brother Dave (Violet) Garza, nephews Christopher, Johnathan, and William, along with many other family and friends.

The family would like to thank the Labbeemint, Inc family for all their support. Also all of our family and friends who continue to send their love and support.

A visitation will be held Friday, September 14, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.

Ben was such a special man. We met at Karaoke and Ben was a rockstar. He was never afraid to try a song most people would pass up and never turned away a request. Much as with everything else in his life, if he was able to there's nothing he wouldn't do for you. Ben always made me feel special in his deeds as well as his words. He always brought me flowers on my birthday, I didn't have the heart to tell him I was allergic to them. I remember one birthday in particular because I decided to have a beer, one turned into 6 and I was feeling good. I got up to go to the bathroom and I fell on Ben and we both almost ended up on the floor. Ben walked me to the restroom and back to my seat and said quietly, "I think it's time for coffee". I agreed but Ben's thoughtfulness went beyond that because he also helped Dennis get me home. Everything about Ben was special, we were blessed in knowing him, having his friendship, his love, him in our lives. I will miss you Ben and when I do the Candlelight Remembrance for Dennis next month I shall hold a candle for you as well.

I still can't believe that I won't see Ben's face or feel the room light up with his energy again.

Someone wrote here that he was loyal to his friends to a fault - it couldn't be truer. Ben was a friend that no matter the time or distance between you - if you ever needed anything he'd be there for you. His enthusiasm was not faked and he might just break a rib or two of yours with his giant hugs.

I had the privilege of working with Ben at Labbeemint - and am thankful I got to know him as a co-worker, a friend, and as a brother.

Ben, Love you buddy.

My most treasured memory of Ben (doublemint) is him walking into the Spur to sing Karaoke and all of a sudden I smell mint. I'm trying to figure out where its coming from so I'm walking around sniffing everywhere. I got near Ben and he must have thought I was crying because he turned around to aski if I was O.K. and realized Id been sniffing him. It was a tad bit embarrassing for us both but Ben became my mint fix. I loved him dearly for all the kindnesses he showed to Dennis and I after Dennis was diagnosed with Cancer. Ben was truly one of Gads angels were on Earth

The twins were about five years old when I first saw them. They were the stoutest and cutest little boys you ever saw. It took quite some time to tell them apart. Before long, they were little karate students and with dedication became black belts. On a winter morning drive to school, Ben's life was changed with a broken neck injury and pain that was his companion every day after. He was a sweetheart and very respectful. My father and brothers and I enjoyed our time working with Ben. May God's love fill the hearts of all who carry the wound of loss for dear Ben.

Aw Ben. Your ready laugh and smiling eyes will leave an empty space at any gathering. You seamlessly embraced our branch of the family as your own. I remember when I started at White Swan, seeing you and your brother, the really cool guys in leather jackets. Little did I know I’d be your MeMe too. Rest well, love you.💜
