The family eventually moved to the Yakima Valley, where he graduated from Yakima High School in 1955. Ben attended Yakima Valley Community College and then transferred to Gonzaga University Law School where he obtained a Law Degree in 1961. It was at Gonzaga that Ben met Linda Ann Wohl. They were married September 3, 1960 in Helena, Montana, and settled in Spokane, WA.
Ben began his legal career as a prosecuting attorney in Spokane, and then moved his young family to Yakima where he worked for the prosecutor’s office until he went into private practice. In 1987 Ben and Linda moved to the Seattle Coast where Ben also worked as a Right-of-Way agent for the Dept. of Transportation and the Attorney General’s Office.
Ben was a loving father to five children and eight grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Linda, one son, Kurt Brunner, three daughters: Kristine Peugh, Elizabeth Cain, and Suzanne Lever, and one sister, Nancy Franks.
Preceding Ben in death are his son, Eric Brunner, as well as his parents Floyd and Betty Brunner and his brother, Alan Brunner.
Ben loved hunting, fishing, photography, and woodworking. He will be remembered lovingly and missed by his family.
There will be a time of visitation 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Keith & Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March, 16th at St. Paul Cathedral, burial to follow at West Hills Memorial Park. Keith & Keith Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
