He was born in Alamosa, Colorado on March 1, 1947 to Floyd Byron McKenzie and Lenora (Lea) McKenzie. Ben was a poet and all-around cowboy.
He is survived by his wife, Mona McKenzie of Yakima; two daughters, Promice Neeley of Groten, CT and Songene McKenzie of Yakima; a son, Benjamin L. McKenzie of Yakima; six grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters.
Private interment will be at Tahoma Cemetery. Keith & Keith Funeral Home are entrusted with arrangements.
