Berney Alvarado Jr.

Berney graduated from Toppenish Public schools where he participated in wrestling and was a proud member of the Toppenish High School band, playing the trumpet.

After high school graduation he moved to the Tri-Cities working various jobs and then to Eugene, Oregon, working several years with Top Foods in the meat and fish departments. He retired one year ago and was settling into his retirement years just before his passing.

Berney was an avid collector of Hot Wheel cars and glass eggs. He also loved to shoot hoops after work, joining local basketball leagues wherever he lived. Berney wore shorts year round, always ready for a game.

He is survived by his children from his first marriage. His son, Army Sergeant 1st class, Lauren David Alvarado, (Kristen) and their children Cayden and Savanna. His daughter Stephanie Scott(Tom) and their children Andru and Josie. And his daughter from his second marriage, Isabella Alvarado. Two sisters, Patricia Garcia (Andres) and Victoria Alvarado and several nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Berney and Mary Alvarado and his sister and brother -in-law, Connie and Fermin Hernandez.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday 12/17/2025 from 3:00 until 7:00 PM with a vigil being held at 5:30 at Langevin El Paraiso Funeral Home.
