

Betty Lou Adler, 76, of Yakima, passed away at College in the Meadow on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was born in Toppenish, Washington to Philamena and Matthew Wolfe. Betty attended school in Toppenish.
Betty married Bernard Adler in 1971 and they combined their two families. Betty had two children and Bernard had six children. Betty was a homemaker after this. She enjoyed knitting, making baby clothes and making bedspreads for everyone in the family. She also sewed and made wonderful homemade bread, donuts, and cinnamon rolls. Betty enjoyed making birthday cakes for her grandchildren and butterflies out of wrapping paper. Other favorite pastimes included playing cribbage with all family members and card games with close friends. She enjoyed going out with Bernard to dance in the earlier years, or getting up to dance in the living room while Lawrence Welk was on TV. Vacations to Hawaii and Florida were special to Betty as well as going to see children and grandchildren.
Betty was a member of Holy Family Church.
She is survived by her brother, Morris (Evelyn) Wolfe of Ellensburg, daughters, Kathy (Scott) Nicholson, Betty (Leon) Leadon; sons, John (Dorine) Nickerson, Steve (Judy) Adler, Dan Adler, Ken (Patti) Adler, Rick (Vicki) Adler, daughter-in-law, Rachel Adler; 21 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bernard, and her son David, four nieces and nephews.
The family is grateful for the loving and professional care given to Betty by Memorial Hospice. They also appreciate everything done by Landmark Care Center and Englewood Heights over the last several years. Memorials may be made to Memorial Hospice, c/o Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home.
