Mom was born in Japton, Arkansas to Lester and Audy McChristian on November 9, 1937. Her family moved from Arkansas to Yakima in 1953. She met her future husband, Jess Page, and after Jess returned from his Army tour in Korea, they were married in May of 1955. They were blessed with four children: Jim, Kathy, Perry and Scott.
Mom began working at a very young age. She had many jobs over her lifetime beginning in the fruit warehouses. She later worked as a cook at the West Valley Junior High. She spent 23 years working in Home Health Care taking care of the elderly. She loved and cared for them and would include them in family holidays.
Her days were very busy raising her family and being a loving wife and companion to Jess. The had a talent and love for baking. She almost always had a fresh pie on the kitchen counter of some home baked dessert to share with a visitor over a cup of coffee. She made everyone feel welcome in her home. She never failed to tell you as you were leaving, “Come back when you can.”
Her real passion was her family. She had a very special relationship with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always ready to spend time reading of playing with them. She spent many hours watching them in their various activities. She was a kind and loving person and she will be greatly missed.
Mom is survived by her sons Jim (Debbie), Perry (Trish) all of Yakima, Scott (Helen) of Pasco, 11 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and sisters: Maxine Weir of Arkansas, Nadine Spooner of Oregon.
She was preceded in death by Jess, her husband of 58 years, her daughter Kathy, her parents, and brother Norm McChristian.
