He was born on March 9, 1938, in Hood River, Oregon, to Daniel and Ethel Nash. He was one of three boys and had a younger sister, Charlotte.
Boyd grew up with his siblings in Hood River, Oregon, and attended Y East High School. On July 15, 1955, he joined the U.S. Air Force and served at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana, as an in-flight refueling specialist. During his service, he was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
Boyd had a resilient spirit and a loving heart. He devoted his early years to raising his three boys while working full-time as a welder and fabricator. He never missed a baseball or football game and always did his best to be the dad his boys needed. He was a hardworking, devoted father who took great pride in his family.
Boyd was also very innovative and creative. He spent many hours building dune buggies and enjoyed riding motorcycles, camping, fishing, and going on cruises. In the mid-1980s, he designed a converter dolly and hitches for double trailers. His design became very popular with some of the largest trucking fleets in Mexico, including Corona, Tecate, and Coca-Cola.
Boyd is survived by his older brother, Eldon, and younger sister, Charlotte, both of Portland, Oregon; his three sons, Mike (Cossette), Dennis Nash, and Doug (Audrey); nine grandchildren; and thirteen great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel Nash; his mother, Ethel Nash (Larue); his brother, David Nash; and his sister-in-law, Patsy Nash.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and caregivers at Englewood/Landmark for the care and kindness they provided to Boyd.
A celebration of Boyd’s life will be held on Friday October 9, 2026 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home at 11:00 AM.
