

Carl Lee Mears, 81 of Yakima, WA died at “Cottage in the Meadow” on January 7th, 2015.
Carl was born April 2nd, 1933 in Lead Hill, Arkansas to Clifton and Ollie Mae (Rogers) Mears.
Carl loved to talk and was a great storyteller. He had many hunting and fishing stories he would tell to anyone who would listen. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with Larry Shelton and Lee Hahn. Carl was always willing to help those in need. He retired in 1999 from Can Am in Moxee and worked in Klamath Falls, Oregon as a journeyman millwright for 30 years.
He especially enjoyed family get-togethers and pot lucks with good southern food.
He loved serving the Lord, and his church family was very important to him. His smile and sense of humor will be deeply missed. After his wife Loretta died in Lakeview, OR., he moved to Yakima to be near his family.
He is survived by 3 children, Bobby Mears of Klamath Falls, OR., Norman Dodson of Indiana, and Angela Conklin of Yakima, numerous grandchildren, and 4 great grandchild. He is also survived by brother Shelby Mears of Omak, and sister Rita Shelton of Yakima, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Ross, Orville and Joe Mears, and 1 sister Ella Mae Hodges.
There will be visitation for Carl on Monday, January 12, 2015 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Keith and Keith Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m. Carl will be interred at West Hills Memorial Park.
