

Caryol Mae Krieger Montgomery Slagle, 77, went to be with her Lord, March 21, 2010 at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. She was born in Cable, WI to John Elliot and Cliffie Marie (Stanley) Krieger on 9/1/1932. She was seventh of eight children, four girls and four boys, all deceased.
She moved to Washington State when she 12 years old from Minnesota; her early life, strength, and attitude to serve others prepared her for her life as mother, helpmate and matriarch. She graduated from Cle Elm High School in 1950. She immediately started her registered nurse training at St. Elizabeth’s. She worked in Yakima at St. Elizabeth Hospital after graduation. She married and had four girls early in her nursing career. In 1960 when she returned to Yakima she resumed work at St. Elizabeth’s as an operating room nurse. She started working at Memorial Hospital four years later in the Recovery Room. Her next position was as head nurse on the 2nd floor, then she helped with the set up and of IV therapy program and for the last 20+ years was the Nursing Supervisor until retiring in 1996.
She married Ron Slagle in 1982 and has worked to blend families using her sweet strength and love.
Survivors include her husband Ronald Slagle of Yakima; daughters Donna (Phillip) Manuel of Yakima, Kathy (Ken) Martin of Yakima, Linda (Marc) Baughman-Gibian of Seattle Nioka Montgomery of Ridgefield WA and Barbara (Tony) Farino of Twin Falls ID; grandchildren, Jeremy (Sarah) Manuel and Christina (Greg) Walker, Chris (Erika) Martin, James (Heather) Martin, Melissa Martin, Victoria Baughman, Denise (Adam) Cunningham, Travis Copeland, Casondra Copeland, Elisa Gibian, Amber, Kurt, Casey and Aiden Farino; great-grandchildren, Megan, Timothy, Alissa, Jonathan, Ashley, Jackson, Caedyn and Eva; many nieces and nephews and a very special friend Joyce Feldt.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. Until 8:00 p.m. on Friday March 26 at Keith & Keith 9th Ave Chapel. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday March 30th at 1:00 PM at Memorial Bible Church, Gleed, WA.
