It is with deep sorrow that the Dahlke family is announcing that they have lost a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Catherine Mary Dahlke (Carlton) was born in Yakima, Washington on August 12, 1958. She took her last breath at Tacoma General Hospital on September 20, 2023, after battling multiple infections, due to liver complications.
Her spirit rests with her father John Henry Carlton, her two loving mothers Martha (Regimbal) Carlton and Mary (Spencer) Carlton, her brother-in-law Thomas Pleasants, her sister-in-law Susan Carlton, her nephew Brian LaBerge, and her great-nephew Shayne Mathews.
Cathy is survived by her husband Douglas Dahlke, her daughters Helen and Diane Dahlke and her two grandsons Matthew and Tommy. She is also survived by her sister Ruth Pleasants, her brothers Gordon (Val) Carlton, Dennis (Dolores) Carlton, Bernard Carlton, Jim (Kathy) Carlton, and many nephews and nieces and their families.
Cathy devoted her life to helping children and families in her community. She was a facilitator for programs at the YMCA and St Paul’s Cathedral and spent time with the Yakima School District as a Para-educator and patrol director.
She loved all her family and friends so much! Cathy could be seen at gatherings talking and laughing with them, playing board games, or playing her guitar and singing songs.
She will be greatly missed. A graveside service for Cathy Dahlke will be held Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery, 1405 S 24th Ave, Yakima, WA 98902. Following the graveside service will be a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at Keith & Keith Funeral Home, 902 West Yakima Ave, Yakima, WA 98902.
