Cecilia (Ce) Clara Paxton age 89 died Sunday, November 24, 2013 in Union Gap, WA. Ce was born August 12, 1924 to Manuel and Rose Silveria in Vallejo, California.
Her formative years were spent on the family ranch near Vallejo, attending church and school. She was "the baby" of a large Portuguese family who found happiness gathering together for delicious food, wine, laughter and spirited conversation. Following in her brothers footsteps, she loved playing baseball and kept informed of standings of Major League Baseball Teams. She remained an avid baseball fan throughout her life.
It was during her years at the ranch that she met and fell in love with Stanley Keith Paxton. They were married on December 7, 1942 in Sanger California and spent the next sixty nine years together. Their only separation was when Keith served with the Army Air Corp during WWII and was stationed in England. After the war Keith and Ce resettled their lives with family in California. In 1949 they moved to Yakima and started their own family. Ce was the mother to Pamela Jean, Marianne and Harold Keith. She was very involved in her children’s lives and supported them in their various interests and activities. While raising their children she enjoyed her duties as Den Mother to Harold's Cub Scout pack, Girl Scout Leader for Pam and Marianne's troop, a volunteer for the American Heart Association, Room Mother at the local elementary school and active Garden Club member. She attended Holy Family Catholic Church from 1965 until recent years when her health began to fail. Her faith and love of Church was a lifelong part of who she was. She was a gracious and loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be sincerely missed and yet the memory of her feistiness will always bring a smile to all who knew her.
Ce was preceded in death by her loving husband, Stanley Keith, her parents, brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children Pam, Harold, Marianne & Elmer Koitzsch, her grandchildren, Tim Marshall, Alisha O'Connell, great granddaughter, McKenzie Sue O'Connell and numerous nieces and nephews who she dearly loved.
Heartfelt thanks goes to Isabel and Jenny for the care they gave to Ce and to Dr. Richard Boyd and staff.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation in Cecilia's honor be made to a favorite charity.
I am in the perfect place. All is well
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2pm at West Hills Memorial Park.
